OUR SCRIPT

OUR VISION

The Bantam Cinema & Arts Center will become a hub of the Litchfield Hills and will be a place that people value as a center for film and the arts.

OUR MISSION

The mission of the Bantam Cinema & Arts Center is to preserve and operate the historic Bantam Cinema and enhance the cultural vitality of the Litchfield Hills through offering a diverse program of film, theater, music and visual arts that seeks to inspire, educate, and engage its audience.

OUR CORE VALUES

●  We believe film and the arts are transformative and create engaged, compassionate citizens.
●  We believe film and the arts should champion equity and represent diverse communities.
●  We believe staff, boards, volunteers and community members play a critical role in preserving history and promoting film and other types of art.
●  We believe that the arts bring people together and that a sense of community brings people happiness in their everyday lives.

STATEMENT OF EQUITY & INCLUSION

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are active processes that require continuous commitment. We believe an inclusionary approach to programming, engagement, planning, and access enriches ourselves and the community.

In presenting the art of independent, international, and local film, the Bantam Cinema & Arts Center serves to deepen compassion and understanding; honor freedom of expression; challenge and dismantle systemic oppression; create environments enriched with diverse views and people; and help the development of socially responsible leaders and citizens.

In presenting other art forms, our organization is dedicated to celebrating and learning from all voices and perspectives, including but not limited to race, culture, orientation, gender identity, and socio-economic class.
